Gold & Coin Buyers in Augusta, GA

Gold buyers pay by weight and purity: the karat stamp (10K is 41.7 percent gold, 14K 58.5 percent, 18K 75 percent) times the day's spot price, minus the buyer's margin. Coin dealers price bullion the same way and price collectible coins on condition and rarity. Prices can differ by 20 percent or more between shops on the same day, so get two or three quotes.

Georgia's precious metals law requires registered dealers to check your ID, record each purchase and hold items before reselling them, so a legitimate buyer will ask for identification. A certified scale in view and a quote in grams or pennyweight at a stated purity are the signs of a straightforward dealer.
